German businessman buys Boris Becker's former estate in Mallorca, Spain.

Boris Becker's previously owned finca in Mallorca was purchased by an unknown businessman from southern Germany. The new owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper that the Son Coll finca near Arta was in need of serious renovation. "When we bought the house, we took out 150 containers of garbage," he said.

Former tennis star Boris Becker, who was sentenced to prison by an English court over bankruptcy problems last year, bought the Son Coll finca in 1997. London private bank Arbuthnot Latham bought the neglected property in 2019 after Becker declared bankruptcy.

The new owner of the finca, described as a young entrepreneur, spent some time redesigning the finca, which had been abandoned for several years and had fallen victim to squatting by illegal tenants.

He told Bild am Sonntag that he had previously lived in the neighborhood, but asked that his personal space be respected.

Nevertheless, he led the journalist on a tour of the finca, which has 13 bedrooms and a large living room that takes up most of the first floor. The finca has a 38-meter pool and a guest house. Most of the furniture is new, and there is barely anything left from Becker's time.
