According to a new poll, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is now in second place behind former President Donald Trump, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is in third place. The poll, conducted by Suffolk University in partnership with the Boston Globe and USA Today, surveyed 500 potential Republican voters. The results, released on October 4, showed that Haley received 19 percent support, while DeSantis managed to garner only 10 percent. Both candidates are still significantly trailing Trump, who received 49 percent support.

In a clear territory, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie received six percent support. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) received about four percent support each. Meanwhile, former Vice President Mike Pence and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum lagged even further behind, receiving only one percent support.

According to POLITICO, the results of the poll in New Hampshire came just before the visit of Republican candidates to the state. This also marks the latest in a series of upward trends for Haley and downward trends for DeSantis in the Republican primary race.

The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations performed strongly in the first two Republican debates, boosting his poll numbers and attracting sponsors interested in his campaign. In contrast, DeSantis's decline in the polls has led to a fierce battle for second place in the nation's first primary state.

Nevertheless, Trump remains the unbeatable favorite for the Republican nomination, as various polls show.

A survey conducted by ABC and the Washington Post among more than 1,000 adult respondents showed this advantage. According to the survey results, 51 percent of respondents support the former president, while only 42 percent support the current president. This means that Trump has a "remarkable" nine-point lead over Biden.

In one of the episodes of "This Week" on ABC, the results of a poll were discussed, and some of the hosts experienced real panic. "These numbers are just astonishing for an incumbent president," said ABC's chief political director Rick Klein to chief international correspondent Martha Raddatz.

"Forty-four percent of people in this survey said that they are not doing as well now as they were at the beginning of the Biden administration two and a half years ago. These are the worst numbers we have seen in our ABC News-Washington Post polls."

While pro-Biden media are panicking over the poll results, those who support the businessman-president are welcoming Trump's leadership.

"Despite the recent accusations, Trump has managed to become a unifying figure for [Republicans], and voters are rallying around the 45th president in record numbers," writes Brian Richards from the DC Enquirer. "As a result, [he] is in as strong a position among Republican voters as ever before. Trump remains a decisive leader in the field of Republican candidates, and his campaign shows no signs of weakening."
