Eating during vacation is enjoyable, but eating on the road is not the best activity. The endless desert of fast food joints and luxurious gas stations does not contribute to good health or culinary diversity. If anyone knows about this, it's indie musicians, many of whom spend months on tour with a tight budget.

Moreover, every time I hear that an indie musician is going on a diet, they talk about their love for Korean stew and other delicacies that are usually not available on American highways.

I'm intrigued by the concept of a new book.Taste In Music: Eating On Tour With Indie MusiciansIts authors areAlex Bliker and Luke PayensonBoth of them have a lot of experience in this field. Bliker is the bassist for Real Estate among other bands, while Payenson is a nutrition and travel journalist who previously played in Frankie Cosmos.

For the book, they interviewed more than 40 of their colleagues in indie music, including names likeRobin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes), Natalie Mering (Weyes Blood), Mark Ibold (Pavement)and others.
