The new apartment complex is designed for senior citizens...
Nye Estate Co, a subsidiary of real estatedeveloper Narai Property Co, plans to renovate an abandoned riverside residential complex in Nonthaburi to create separate residential units for elderly people to rent. Executive Director Ornruedi Na-Ranong noted that the number of people over 60 in Thailand is steadily increasing and is expected to make up 30% of the total population in 14 years, up from 18% in 2020. She said: "This consumer segment represents a huge demand. Many older people are healthy, active and able to look after themselves. They are looking for living spaces where they can spend an active life for as long as possible. "
Three years ago, Nye Estate joined Livwell Co, an expert in elderly care and management, to provide senior living solutions at the Riverine Place residential development in Nonthaburi, developed by Narai Property. Riverine Place was launched for sale and developed before the 1997 financial crisis and consists of three towers.
