To relocate the festive creative market to the paid-for area of the Italian Gardens on the Trentham Estate.
One of the popular Christmas markets in the Trentham Estate will become chargeable to visitors because authorities have decided to move it to a separate entrance sector called the Italian Gardens. The Makers' Market was usually held in the Trentham Shopping Village parking lot. However, the market, scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 16 and 17, will now be held at the Italian Gardens. The decision was a consequence of canceling an anticipated trail of lights for Christmas in Trentham Estate. But attractioneers have also announced the upcoming weekend of Dec. 16-17, which will be full of holiday fun, including Makers' Market. Ice sculptures and rides are also expected to be among the proposed attractions.
The decision, however, was not met with approval by all. One shopper told local media, "They canceled the Makers' Market events that were supposed to be in the parking lot on December 16 and 17 and moved them to the gardens to run concurrently with other rides.
The cost of an adult ticket to visit the Italian Gardens is currently £13 per day. The price drops to £11 for pensioners and students, and £9.5 for children aged 3 to 15. A family ticket for two adults and two children currently costs £39.
The Trentham Estate has yet to comment on the specific decision to move Makers' Market to the Italian Gardens. For his part, a Trentham Estate spokesperson said, "Our three weekends of Christmas Makers' Markets will, as usual, be held at the shopping village starting November 18. On Friday, September 29, we will unveil the full program for our new special Christmas event, which will take place on December 16 and 17. "
