The ruler of Dubai plans to build an 11-bedroom estate. The UAE royal family adore the UK and frequently visit the region.
This time the news broke that His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is set to expand his Highland retreat by adding an 11-bedroom palace to his estate on the Inverneith estate on West Ross. The Inverneith estate is owned by Sheikh Mohammed and encompasses 63,000 acres on the north shore of Lake Duich. It is the epitome of luxury, with two large houses, a 16-bedroom estate, a swimming pool and gym, and a helipad.
Sheikh Mohammed intends to build an 11-bedroom estate next to the recently completed 17-bedroom Benul estate. According to documents submitted to the Highland Council for approval in November, the new estate aims to meet the Dubai ruler's need for more accommodation for his family as well as friends during their visits.
Sheikh Mohammed, whose fortune is estimated at £14 billion, bought the Inverineith estate more than 20 years ago as a place of refuge from the sweltering summer months in the Middle East, and spends several weeks each year on the property. During his this year's visit, he was spotted boating in the scenic area.
