Agents' earnings Sunset sale: who earned the most?
Since the debut of "For Sale Sunset" in 2018, the world has been given a glimpse inside the multi-million dollar homes that Oppenheim Group agents are selling in Los Angeles.
Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Davina Potratz, Chrishell Staus, Maya Wander, Amanza Smith and Heather Rae El Moussa (former last name Young) work as top agents on the Netflix series, which follows their personal lives - including Chrishell and Justin Hartley's divorce and Christine's lavish wedding to Christian Richard - and their lavish careers.
In season 4, Vanessa Villela and Emma Hernan joined them, and Chelsea Lazkani became a member of Oppenheim in season 5. With celebrity clients like Ellen Jeaneres, Orlando Bloom and Meryl Streep among their clients, Oppenheim Group agents have the potential to earn a hefty commission, which is why it's so important for them to keep their listings.
When a mansion is sold on the show, the price it was sold for is listed, followed by the commission the agent seemingly receives. In 2019, Davina gave an example in an interview with Evoke.ie in which agents receive 75 percent commission and 25 percent goes to the broker. "The way real estate works, there's a broker's license and a salesperson's license, so a broker is a higher license," she said. "Sellers have to operate under a broker's license, and brokers also have more responsibility, if something goes wrong or someone sues the broker is liable. "
While she did not disclose what Oppenheim Group's contracts with brokers are, the new division director said it's different for each agent. "Everyone has their own metrics based on their professional experience and relationship with their brokerage firm.

In addition to their real estate careers, the women on the show are all social media influencers and earn money for filming the show. But not everyone gets the same paycheck, according to Chrystine. "When we started the show, we all had our own attorneys. Most of us are represented by one attorney, but I obviously had to find my own entertainment attorney and do my own thing," she revealed in an interview for Us in May 2022. "We've been told there are levels [of pay]." She continued: "I was the one who came to the whole staff and said: 'Look, if we need to get the paycheck that I think we all, being equal, deserve in total, we need to come together and stay on the same page.' But it didn't work, and some people were too torn to sign their contracts right away, which immediately put them in a different group. "
While reality stars have never revealed how much they make from commissions or shows, there are ways to gauge how they manage to afford all their designer clothes. In August 2020, marketing agency Evoluted compared each agent's listings based on the properties shown on the show. The total amount received by the agents is based on the 75/25 example provided by Davina. Additionally, the official Influencer Marketing Hub has roughly estimated how much agents earn per Instagram post based on the number of followers they have.
