On March 1, 2024, at 1:31 PM, the Ministry of Health announced new conditions for "Surrogate Motherhood" for women over 55 years old. Unmarried women can become egg donors. There is also an opportunity for foreign couples to start families in Thailand through surrogacy. Preparations are currently underway for the implementation of this new legislation.

It has been noted that over the past year, "Surrogate Motherhood" has been permitted for 754 women, generating more than 7.5 billion baht for the country. Data on the number of births in Thailand over the past 10 years, revealed by the Islamic Community Registration Office and the Ministry of Health, showed a gradual decline.
