If you've been thinking about getting a United credit card, now is the perfect time to do it.

United has just increased the sign-up offers for four popular credit cards, adding an extra 10,000 United MileagePlus miles to each bonus from the current rate.

Here’s how much you can now get with the following personal credit cards after approval and meeting the necessary conditions:

  • United Club℠ Infinite Card: 90,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening;
  • United Quest℠ Card: 70,000 bonus miles and 500 qualifying premium points after you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening;
  • United℠ Explorer Card: 60,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening your account;
  • United Gateway℠ Card: 30,000 bonus miles after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

Here is a brief overview of each card and its benefits, as well as the cost of the increased sign-up bonus. Currently, United offers four personal credit cards, each with specific advantages. Here is a quick comparison table for easy reference.

The value of United MileagePlus miles averages 1.3 cents per mile, according to Insider's calculations, with lower redemption rates averaging around 1.1 cents per mile and higher redemption rates reaching up to 1.6 cents per mile.

This means that the current sign-up bonuses can yield you between $390 and $1,170, depending on the earned sign-up bonus and the redemption rate of the miles.

In addition to the monetary value of each card, don't forget to consider the "soft" benefits of each card. The United Club card offers strong advantages for frequent Star Alliance travelers, including access to the airline's global network of airports, airport perks, and free baggage allowance.

At the same time, the United Gateway card doesn't offer many opportunities for elevated spending categories or travel perks, but it does provide a long interest-free credit period, which can help you in financial difficulties. The Quest card has a higher annual fee but includes a $125 annual travel credit, as well as free baggage allowance and flight credits that can easily cover the cost for the right traveler.

Finally, the reliable United Explorer card comes with two annual passes to the United Club, free baggage allowance on flights, and several other less significant benefits, in addition to a modest annual fee of $0 for the first year, then $95 annually.
