A massive fire at a chemical warehouse in Thailand has claimed one life and injured four others.

As a result of a massive fire at a chemical warehouse in an industrial area in eastern Thailand, one victim tragically lost their life, and four others were injured. The incident was recorded in the Mab Ta Phut industrial park on Thursday, and the blaze erupted in the morning but was not extinguished until more than six hours later. According to the public relations office of Rayong province, firefighters estimate that it will take more than ten hours to completely extinguish the fire. Due to the threat to people, around 400 workers and local residents were evacuated to temporary shelters.

According to official sources, the fire originated in a tank that holds 2,500 cubic meters of liquid. This facility belongs to Mab Ta Phut Tank Terminal, which operates a commercial port and a tank terminal for storing petrochemical products.

In the videos and photographs from the scene, a giant column of black smoke and flames engulfing a white tank can be seen, located in close proximity to other containers. The company released an official statement indicating that an investigation into the causes of the fire is currently underway, and measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. They expressed their condolences to the victims and are prepared to provide compensation to everyone affected by this event.

It is worth noting that this company has already faced critical situations; in 2021, they were required to suspend operations after one of their tanks exploded and caught fire, claiming three lives and seriously injuring two others. This incident highlights the importance of adhering to safety standards at such industrial facilities to prevent the recurrence of tragedies in the future.
