Onyx signs a new project Shama in Thailand.

The ONYX Hospitality hotel group is expanding its Shama serviced apartment brand with the opening of its first Thai establishment outside of Bangkok. They have announced plans to open Shama Rayong, which will welcome guests starting in the first quarter of 2026. The company states that Shama Rayong demonstrates that the demand for serviced apartments in Thailand remains high. Currently, there are six Shama hotels in Thailand, as well as locations in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Malaysia.
Rayong is a city on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, southeast of Bangkok. It is one of the main industrial areas of Thailand.
The CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group, Yutchai Charanachitta, said: "This is an important point for the Shama brand, responding to the growing demand for serviced apartments, especially in the business travel segment.".
The ONYX Hospitality Group is focused on expanding the Shama brand and currently manages 16 Shama hotels, with another five hotels under construction. Upcoming openings include Shama Medini in Malaysia and Shama Hub Qiantang Hangzhou in China.
