From Ben Affleck's estate in Georgia: From a failed sale for $12 million to marital bliss

Three years ago, Ben Affleck unsuccessfully tried to sell a secluded river house in Georgia, where he and his then-fiancée Jennifer Lopez often went for vacations. Now they are set to marry again, and their wedding ceremony will take place at a beautiful countryside property known as Hampton Island.
The star of the films "Argo" and "Gone Girl" purchased this property in Riceboro in 2003 when he was dating Lopez.
In 2019, when he was dating Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus from New York, Affleck put his property on the market for $8.9 million, offering 35 acres of land and three residences, each with its own character and connected by shell paths.
The historical decor and interior finishes of the main house, known as the Big House, look very authentic. The address also includes a summer cottage and a huge rustic cabin known as the Oyster House.
At one point, Affleck was so unyielding in selling his property that he lowered the price by 15 percent. The Engel & Völkers Savannah agency, which was running the sales campaign, called the place "one of the most valuable gems on the Georgia coast." However, the sale did not go through, and now this property will be the center of attention at the couple's wedding.
The main house, designed in Greek style, features four bedrooms and luxurious living spaces, including a ballroom, library, sunroom, wine cellar, stables, a pool with a gazebo, and numerous crystal chandeliers, fireplaces, and plaster finishes.

The summer cottage has its own uniqueness, with a deep porch overlooking the dock and steps leading down to the water. This charming southern countryside retreat, featuring a metal roof and colonnades, is connected to the Oyster House by a cozy path.
