From suspended to the youngest state registrar in Spain: I study 15 hours at a time. I'm not brilliant.

s professional ambitions, Gonzalo realized he would have to abandon his dream of becoming a doctor. He had always wanted to be a doctor, but his GPA was not high enough to get into medical school. So, he went on to study law and focused on legal studies. "There are no lawyers in my family, just my older brother. It was always said that he would even manage to bargain with the devil that he was born to be a lawyer, so I stayed out of that field, to say the least," Gonzalo said.

This didn't cause him much pressure, however. "My results are not brilliant, I have a 6.5 grade point average, and in the first semester I received unsatisfactory grades in four subjects," he comments.

After graduation''Gonzalo's studies and had no idea how much his life could change in such a short period of time. At that time, the whole world was suffering from a pandemic when this young man was finishing his studies in Administration and Business Management with Economic Specialization at the University of Deusto. That same summer of 2020, Olmos contacted a preparer for the official exams, whom his brother already knew, and a notary from Lekeitio. On October 1, he began his journey as a preparatory student. He spent 14 hours studying every day until his first notary exam in November 2021.

"I was satisfied, made it through the whole time. Then I realized there were things I didn't do too well,'' he says.

He failed the exam.''A significant decline followed: 'I stopped feeling the stress of studying and started suffering from anxiety and worry attacks. I had to seek psychological help because it was the most difficult period of my life.'

In retrospect, however, Olmos is deeply proud of the fact that he didn't give up any of the days he chose to study. The main factor that helped him keep his balance was sports. He wasn't alone - Laura has been one of his big supports throughout this long and difficult journey. "She passed her exams last year and throughout we repeated the material together. All the songs I sang were similar to the actual exam, which is one hour long. "

He's already chosen a place to work: he's going to''Cangas de Onis in Asturias and will begin work on Nov. 2. "I was fortunate that my family was able to support me, my mom doesn't work and has always taken care of us, and I didn't have any personal problems. In fact, it takes some financial capacity to prepare for the exams in this way," he concludes, being the youngest real estate registrar in the country.
