Julia Crooks
Julia Crooks is an interior designer at Home and Made Custom Home Builders, whose team works on thehousein Dekalb County for more than two years. “This house is a super energy-efficient eco-home,” she said. “From the architecture to the elements we incorporate into the design.”
Houseinformation
The single-family passive house consists of four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and has 3,600 square feet on two levels. Andrew Goings is a custom home builder from Home and Made Custom Home Builders who is leading his team on this project. “We really focus on those construction details that don't necessarily cost a lot, but definitely add value in terms of energy efficiency.”
Certification
The house has already been certified by the Passive House InstituteU.S.(PHIUS), which certifies facilities that meet sustainability goals.

“The house has to heat and cool on its own,” Crooks said. “This allows us to lower our energy bills before we even install solar panels.”
