The first passive house in Georgia is almost completed.
This house
according to interior designer Julie Crooks of Home and Made Custom Home Builders, is a super energy-efficient green home. It includes four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and occupies 3,600 square feet on two levels.
Andrew Goings
a home builder for Home and Made Custom Home Builders, is leading his team on this project. He notes that inhomeattention is paid to building details that improve energy efficiency without increasing costs.
Househas already received certification from Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), which certifies that the structures are compliant with sustainability.
The creation of the first passive house in Georgia will hopefully start a trend of building such homes in the South. The new passive house in Chamblee should be completed next week. The couple has already purchased the home for a total of $1.3 million. Home and Made Custom Home Builders has already drawn up plans to build two more passive homes in the neighborhood.
