The owner of Joe's service station in Altadena, California, sold the winning ticket and received a $1 million bonus.

The life of the sole winner of the Powerball lottery drawing for $2.04 billion in November 2022 seems a bit more glamorous. Edwin Castro won the largest jackpot in history and chose to take a lump sum of $997.6 million. Since his win, there have been news reports about his spending, including the purchase of two multimillion-dollar homes in California and a luxury car that attracts the attention of those around him.

Although he refused to appear publicly when he claimed the grand prize two months after the drawing, he praised California's public schools as the "real winner" and stated in a written statement that he was shocked and thrilled.
