Water and electricity payment assistance for state social security card recipients has been extended for another 7 months through April '66.
The government is extending the deadline for reducing electricity and water bills for recipients of state social assistance by 7 months, from October to April next year.
But MPs have also decided to levy a tourist tax on foreign citizens. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister for Policy Anucha Burawichaisri after a ministerial cabinet meeting, she supported extending the timeline of the plan to reduce electricity and water supply costs starting from October 2565 and extending to April 2566.
She explained that from the total budget of Bt1,933.05 billion, the money will be set aside to support the electricity sector of Bt1,786.05 billion, which will help about 810,000 households, and Bt147 million to support the water sector, which will help about 210,000 households.
It has also been decided to charge a tourism fee from foreign nationals amounting to 2.23 billion baht from "Local Tourism".
The Cabinet resolution will be effective until September 30, 2565.
