Former King Prajadhipok's estate in Thailand is for sale in the United Kingdom.

The properties that once belonged to the last king of Thailand, Prajadhipok, have recently come onto the market. This estate, covering more than 67 acres, originally belonged to Prajadhipok, also known as Rama VII, the last absolute monarch of Siam (modern-day Thailand).

The estate was built in 1419. Rama VII ruled the country from 1925 to 1935, during a chaotic and revolutionary period, and died in exile in England at the age of 47 in 1941.

This charming estate in the English village of Biddenden, a former center of the iron industry, combines wealth and rustic charm, along with an intriguing history. The property, known as Wayne Court, is owned by Will Peppitt of Savills and is offered for just over $7 million. The estate still features several antique elements, such as an entrance gallery with a wooden staircase, as well as modern amenities like a heated pool and tennis courts. (Source: Savills website)

Two years after his abdication in 1937, the late former king and his queen Rambhai Barni moved here and quickly adapted to country life.

According to The New York Post, it is believed that Prajadhipok slept in the attic, now known as the Royal Bedroom, in accordance with a peculiar Siamese tradition that stated no one else could be above his head in the house.

The estate still has several old features, such as an entrance gallery with a wooden staircase, as well as modern amenities like a heated pool and tennis courts. Depending on the use of the spaces inside, the house has between six to seven bedrooms, two of which have en-suite bathrooms, a dining room with a fireplace, a gym with a wooden frame, various fireplaces, and a kitchen with granite countertops, an oil Aga, and American walnut furniture. The roofs are mostly covered with tiles. Outside the windows, you can see formal gardens, including the King's pond in the water garden and a now overgrown rose garden.

The estate also features two concrete barn structures next to the main house, which currently have "building permits" to convert them into homes with four and three bedrooms, respectively. Additionally, there is "ample parking," including a carport and a garage for four cars with an open facade. There is also a heated pool, surrounded by a lush hedge, and nearby is a tennis court, also enclosed by a hedge.
