"Chalet Mackay, owned by the founder of Recreativo de Huelva, is for sale for1.85 million."

The historic McKay chalet, one of the most exclusive and iconic buildings in Huelva, is up for sale. The house, which belonged to one of the founders of Recreativo de Huelva, can be purchased on Idealista for 1.85 million euros. The heirs of the family currently owning the property have decided to sell the estate along with the 3,648-square-meter plot it sits on. This luxurious estate is located in the heart of the city but offers privacy and security.

The Mackay Chalet, located on the street of the same name, has an area of 520 square meters, five bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The house is divided into three floors and dates back to 1911, when architect Luis Mosteiro designed its construction. Its first owner, William Alexander Mackay, was named an honorary citizen of Huelva in 1923. The Scottish doctor worked at one of the local mines and founded the city's football team, presiding over it for several seasons.

Impressive details both inside and outside the house enhance the historical value of the building, while its amazing green spaces provide a tranquility that few of the neighbors can enjoy. The house is located in the center of Huelva, but is completely shielded by a row of bushes that prevent curious onlookers from observing the building. The chalet-style architecture is a striking example of the significant British presence in the area during the early decades of the last century.

The property, one of the most iconic in the area, is located next to another famous estate: the private home of Dr. MacDonald, the nephew of a Scottish physician.

The design was created by the same architect and is also part of the British heritage in the city. When the chalet ceased to belong to Dr. Mackay, it passed into the hands of various local families who took care of its preservation. The last owner passed away a few months ago, and his heirs preferred to put the property up for sale.

Nevertheless, the building has a history. The unique layout of the estate with its noble spirit has prompted the municipality of Huelva to consider including it in the Catalog of Buildings of Interest according to the General Urban Planning Plan. As a result, the property cannot be demolished, and no structural changes can be made to its facade. During Mackey's time in Huelva, many celebrities and notable figures visited the house. It has become one of the most expensive in the city, not only due to its artistic value but also its cultural heritage. Those interested in purchasing the property must demonstrate a certain level of financial capability before they can visit it.
