Real estate sales exceed €17 billion in five years

According to the latest figures, the real estate registry has registered transactions worth 17 billion euros since 2018, with 2022 being the most successful year. The total value of properties sold from 2018 to 2022 will increase as some deals are yet to be finalized.

According to the real estate registry, the total value of properties sold amounted to 17.3 billion euros, with the highest amount recorded in 2022 and the lowest in 2020. Most notably, the value of properties sold in 2022 amounted to 4.18 billion euros, compared to 3.19 billion euros in 2021, 2.73 billion euros in 2020, 3.55 billion euros in 2019 and 3.61 billion euros in 2018.

The amount of 17.3 billion euros corresponds to 90,251 real estate sales over five years for which title deeds have been issued and registered in the real estate registry. Property sales totaled 20,799 last year, 18,463 in 2021, 14,663 in 2020, 17,988 in 2019 and 18,336 in 2018.

A total of 148,689 properties were sold, including sales with or without the issuance of title documents. Of these, 41,146 occurred in 2022, 28,810 in 2021, 22,631 in 2020, 28,354 in 2019 and 27,578 in 2018.

Foreign buyers

European and foreignreal estate buyers increased markedly in 2022.

At the same time, there were 78,502 real estate gifting transactions, with the highest number occurring in 2022 and the lowest in 2020. There were 17,283 gifts of real estate in 2022, compared to 16,781 in 2021, 12,952 in 2020, 15,947 in 2019, and 15,539 in 2018.
