The "treasury" of Belgian political parties reached its highest level in history in 2022, according to a report from the Electoral Expenditure Control Commission. The total own funds of all parties amounted to 121 million euros. Despite parties never being this wealthy, the reform of the state funding system is stalled.

The richest parties in Belgium

With total assets of 29.31 million euros, N-VA is the richest party in the country, ahead of Vlaams Belang (13.8 million) and PS (12.23 million). In Belgium, political parties rely 80% on government funding.
