Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival design by Studio Gang revealed

The first images of the building design for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) by Studio Gang have been unveiled; and its sleek timber structure is the foundation for the project's goal of creating the first purpose-built LEED Platinum theater in the United States. At the same time, this project, located in Harrison, NY, with an intricate plan and landscape architecture by the firm of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects, aims to become not only a center for the local creative community, but also a significant cultural attraction for the entire Hudson Valley.

The 13,850-square-foot building takes center stage on a 98-acre site given to HVSF for use and maintenance.

"The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival is such a beloved cultural venue, completely uniquely located in the Hudson Valley," said Gang Studio founder and partner Jinn Gang (she is also featured in Wallpaper* USA 300's guide to Creative America). "Our design aims to help the company grow by providing low-carbon architecture that enhances everyday functionality and reinforces traveling performance traditions, such as the magnificent proscenium arch that frames the view of the Hudson River, and creates new opportunities for audience and cast interaction before and after
