Results: The special election in Georgia's 139th district concludes with a runoff.

As a result of the special election to fill the vacancy in Georgia's 139th legislative district, voting has concluded and the results have been announced. This district includes northern Columbus and a small part of Harris County and was left vacant following the passing of Georgia State Representative Richard Smith in January.
So, after yesterday's voting, it became clear that a winner could not be determined, and now we have a second round ahead of us between Sean Knox and Carmen Rice, as neither candidate received a majority of the more than 2,500 votes cast in Muskogee and Harris County.

So, the overall results of the voting are as follows:
- Sean Knox- 1045 votes (42.57%)
- Robert Mallard- 237 (9.65%)
- Donald Moeller- 140 (5.70%)
- Carmen Rice- 1033 votes (42.08%)
So, we will be watching the second round of the elections between former Muskogee Republican Party chair Carmen Rice and business owner Sean Knox to determine who will complete the term started by Richard Smith in January.
Both candidates acknowledged that they were expecting a runoff and expressed their readiness to continue the fight for victory.
