A luxury beach estate in a Thai resort town is up for auction.
An eight-bedroom private mansion on the west coast of Phuket, Thailand, will be auctioned next month. Villa Sawan, measuring 65,950 square feet, offers open views of the Andaman Sea, includes eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a 25-meter-long swimming pool with a separate bathing area and two additional pools," the listing said.
"Sawan means 'heaven' in Thai, and the owners wanted them to feel like heaven on earth while at home," said Lyndon Phillips of Prime Real Estate Phuket, who is working with Concierge Auctions on the sale.
The property is located within the compound of Trisara, one of Phuket's luxury beach resorts. Online bidding begins on December 6 and ends in New York at a live event on December 12.

Although it has never been put up for sale, the property has a market value of $23 million, according to Mr. Phillips, who has about 15 years of experience in the Fouquet luxury real estate market.
The owners, who prefer to remain anonymous, used it as a family home many times, but their situation has changed and it's now little used," Mr. Phillips said.
Mansion Global could not confirm the identity of the property owners.
Walking through the wooden doors, you enter a home with stained glass ceilings, a 14-seat dining area, fitness and yoga centers, a steam room, a private movie theater and a home office with a meeting room, the ad says.

"The resort on which the property is located occupies 14 hectares of protected nature reserve," reads a statement from Concierge Auctions, "and is home to PRU, the only restaurant in Phuket using locally sourced food and ranked by Michelin.
The new owners will also be able to take advantage of the additional amenities offered by the resort, including a spa, infinity pool, tennis courts, and cruises to nearby islands.
"Thailand has excellent air quality, wonderful food. The people here are much more relaxed, and there are no usual stresses," said Mr. Phillips.
Attracted by the lifestyle of the country, the sun, and the beaches, he moved from Oxford, England, to Thailand in 2005.
Regardless of the season, there are plenty of water activities here. "From November to April, the sea is very calm, perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing; from mid-April to July, when the sea is stirred by the wind, it's great for surfing," Mr. Phillips said.
