The most popular cities to buy a house in Spain

The cities with the highest demand for affordable housing for sale are concentrated between Madrid and its outskirts, such as Las Rosas, Mostoles, Getafe and Alcalá de Henares. These locations, which have a large selection of apartments for sale on the idealista platform, are accompanied by other major cities such as Valencia, Pamplona, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The most popular cities in Spain to buyreal estate are Las Rosas de Madrid, acting ahead of Madrid in relative demand for real estate, as well as Mostoles, Alcala de Henares and Getafe. Also in the demand ranking are cities such as Valencia, Pamplona, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

In idealista/data's ranking of relative demand for real estate, the city of Las Rosas de Madrid has overtaken Madrid in terms of real estate price. This city in the northwest of the capital immediately took the lead as it does not meet the demand criteria every quarter.

The company idealista/data has analyzed the real estate market in 119 locations, with more than 1,400 real estate listings for sale and rent at prices above 1,100 euros per square meter. Thus, Las Rosas de Madrid ranked first in the demand ranking, accompanied by cities such as Madrid, Mostoles, Alcalá de Henares and Getafe.

When analyzing real estate prices in Spain found that the city of Benahavis on the Costa del Sol took the first place among the most expensive settlements with an average price of 2.21 million euros. It is followed by Calvia (1.67 million euros), Marbella (1.49 million euros) and Sotogrande (1.14 million euros), located along the Spanish coast from Cadiz to Mallorca.

In second place in the ranking for prices per thousand thousand euros are the towns of Altea and Jabea on the East Coast in Alicante, as well as Sitges and Castelldefels in Barcelona, Llucmayor in Palma and Estepona in Malaga.

Finally, first in price among provincial capitals are Palma and San Sebastian.

To compile the rankings, idealista used data on the average price of housing in cities with more than 1,300 listings with a price of more than 1,100 euros per square meter. It also took into account data on user behavior that showed demand for real estate through email contacts, checkouts and saved to favorites listings. This indicator was used to measure the demand for real estate for each region of Spain and for each market segment (sale and rental).
