Bulgaria's most expensive house worth 10.5 million euros

This modern glass-covered mansion may look like it just arrived from Beverly Hills, but it's on the market some 6,600 miles away, in Sofia, Bulgaria's capital and largest city.

"Sofia's biggest advantage is that it has a mountain nearby with a ski resort on top," said sales agent Hristo Angelkov of Bulgaria Sotheby's International Realty, which put the house on the market earlier this month. "This property is located in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods at the foot of the mountain, where the new owners will be able to enjoy clean and fresh air, views of the peak and the whole city, even from the infinity pool," Angelkov said.

This mansion is for sale for 10.5 million euros ($11.5 million), making it the most expensive house in the entire country, which lies between Greece and Romania. Spanning three floors and more than 21,000 square feet, this fenced-in property is the epitome of luxury, according to the sales agent from Bulgaria Sotheby's International Realty, who put the home on the market earlier this month. The sales agent was not immediately available for comment.

The three-bedroom home has a sleek contemporary style on an open-plan layout with monochromatic white interiors, double-height ceilings, marble floors and sculptural light fixtures hanging across the staircase and above the living space.

The kitchen area has white countertops and cabinets, as well as a mirrored apron and a hidden TV emerging from the island. There are also terraces, gym, garage and floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the nearby Vitosha Mountain. The nearly 3.6-acre property features a large pool surrounded by greenery, including bonsai trees, according to the listing.

Home prices in Bulgaria rose 14.6 percent, placing it 13th out of 56 countries for annual price growth in the third quarter of 2022, according to the latest data from Knight Frank. Hotel Mansion Global could not identify the owner of the home or how much they paid for it.
