Serbia's energy minister, Dubravka Џedoviћ-Handanoviћ, has said that a cross-border oil and gas pipeline between Serbia and Hungary is expected to be completed by 2028, local press reports.
In June, Serbia and Hungary agreed to build a 128-kilometer-long cross-border oil and gas pipeline for Serbia to receive Russian Urals oil through the Druzhba pipeline, as supplies through Croatia are subject to EU sanctions.
"We have already started developing technical documentation, and the work on Serbian territory will be carried out by the state-owned oil storage operator Transnafta." It is planned to complete the construction of this oil and gas pipeline by 2028, which will allow transporting about 4 million tons of oil," Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Џedoviћ-Handanoviћ was quoted as saying by Tanjug Agency at the Southeast Europe Gas Forum in Belgrade.
Serbia also plans to build gas pipelines with Northern Macedonia and Romania by 2028, Dubravka Џedoviћ-Handanoviћ added, without giving further details.
