Over the past year, foreign buyers have purchased real estate in Montenegro to the tune of 170 million''euros, down 13 million from a year earlier. The biggest buyers were Russians, Serbs and Turks, Central Bank data shows.

Citizens of the Russian Federation conducted real estate transactions worth almost 39 million euros, which is about the same level as the previous year, and right behind them are citizens of Serbia, who spent just under 17 million euros on buying real estate, or 2 million more than in 2018, which allowed them to rise to second place, thus surpassing Turks, who last year made transactions worth less than 13 million euros, according to the CdM portal from Podgorica.

The largest buyers of real estate who spent more than 10 million euros include citizens of NATO member states,''s new member Montenegro, the Americans, who spent 11 million euros, and the Germans, whose transactions amounted to 10 million euros.

The Swiss are also major players in the real estate market in Montenegro, but data on their transactions are considered confidential.

Last year, Kosovo residents were also significant buyers of real estate in Montenegro, they spent 4 million euros, and a million more than citizens of the southern Serbian province were invested by Magyars, who spent 5 million euros on real estate.
