How much do I have to pay to register my property?

First of all, to know how much you have to pay to register your home in the Property Registry, you need to know the cadastral value of the property, since the rates set depend on the value indicated in the documents defined in Royal Decree 1427/1989 of November 17:

  • The value of the plot does not exceed 6,010.12 euros - 24.04 euros
  • Between 6,010.13 and 30,050.61 euros - 1.75 euros extra for every 1,000 euros of value
  • Between 30,050.62 and 60,101.21 euros - 1.25 euros extra for every 1,000 euros of value
  • Between EUR 60,101.22 and EUR 150,253.03 - EUR 0.75 extra'. 'for every 1,000 euros of the value of

An example of calculating the cost of registering a property:

Imagine that you have just bought a house worth €100,000. Taking into account the fees mentioned above, the total cost would be the sum of these amounts:

24.04 + 42.07 + 37.56 + 29.92 = 133.59 euros

The first €24.04 refers to the first €6,010.12 and the next three values correspond to the following value intervals up to €100,000. 133.59 euros is the maximum value that the registrar can charge for registration''your €100,000 home in the Property Registry.
