See: meeting with residents of Dubai Hill - information exchange
The different communities in the UAE have an individual appeal to residents. With so many new neighborhoods, Gulf News research has uncovered why these areas are becoming the choice of residents.
Let's take a look at Dubai Hills Estate, located on Umm Suqeim Road, for example.Among the many reasons cited by its residents, both apartments and villas, its central location, spaciousness, the presence of three schools, a new shopping mall, proximity to a hospital, an eight-hole golf course and a 54-kilometre cycling track are the main advantages.
The project's central location is one of the reasons Portugal resident Sandra Martinho credits the project's central location as one of the reasons why she andher family decided to occupy a house in Dubai Hills Estate. "I find it very centrally located. My son also goes to school inside the community. So it's very convenient," said Martinho, who lives in Maple 3 in a four-bedroom townhouse plus a maid's room. "I also really like the friendly community that coexists beautifully. We have residents' groups on Facebook, WhatsApp and it's quite helpful. I don't feel lonely living in a big villa because I have very friendly neighbors. It's also very green here.".
Other happy family living in Dubai Hills Estate are Pakistanis Mansoor Naqvi, his wife Mahalaka and children Izzan and Mishal. They have all made friends in the community and have loved the extra space their luxury villa offers.Naqvi said before moving into the community, the family lived in an apartment. "My kids were growing up and I wanted them to have extra space to play in the house. We were considering villas to live in and decided to take up this three-bedroom villa plus servants' quarters at Sidra 2," Naqvi said.
Sidra 2 at Dubai Hills is home to many foreign expats from around the world. "Dubai Hills Estate is a great community to live in. The facilities here are excellent. The community creates the feeling of living in a mixed environment - an urban atmosphere with a suburban feel. Dubai Hills Mall is a great addition. Our kids love being able to play and go out on their bikes. As parents, we feel comfortable letting our children roam freely in the community, as we know they are in asecurity," Mahalaka said.
Indian businessman Vinod Jadhav, 50, has invested Dh24.5 million to buy a 31,500-square-foot plot inside the community.

Indian expat Dr. Nandita Mehrotra, 46, has set up informal communities on Facebook and WhatsApp to bring residents together with one anotherwith a friend. "It all started with a walk in the park. I met someone and we formed a band, which has now become massive. I have several groups - one for Sidra, one for Maple and so on. We also have a buying and selling group," said Mehrotra, who said she was one of the first residents to move into the community in 2019.
"We were one of the first group of residents here," said Mehrotra, who has lived at Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) at Dubai Marina for several years. She said the project's location was one of the key reasons she moved in. "It's location, location, location. While some people think it's far away, I think the opposite. After hours, we can get to the airport in just 20 minutes. Commutefully developed. It's kind of like a city within a city. "
She said residents are not forced to go outside the community to fulfill their basic needs. Residents who spend a lot of time at Dubai Hills Mall said it also has a supermarket that covers their daily needs.
