Good news for Biddeford-Saco-OOB residents! On Thursday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m., the McArthur Library will host a "Wabanaki Stories" event where you can hear stories from local historian and Native American storyteller Ann Jennison. Admission is free, but early arrival is recommended as seating is limited.

The Biddeford Historical Society's Veterans Day Celebration will be held at the historic First Parish Meetinghouse on Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. The event will be hosted by the Biddeford Historical Society. The event includes an appearance by representatives from the American Veterans Post, a speech by Mayor Alan Casavant, representatives from Volk Packaging will speak about the Wall of Honor, a river of names of Biddeford veterans who fought in the American Revolution, the Biddeford High School History Club, a speech by speaker Colonel Jennifer Fulmer, a performance of the musical composition "Mourning" by Debbie Peck, a giveaway of military literature from Dennis Letelier, and more. Don't miss this momentous day!

On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., there will be a Veterans Day Observance at Veterans Memorial Park, Arundel Fire Station on Limerick Street. The program includes a reading of the honor roll, a performance by the M.L.Day Children's Choir, and short speeches of remembrance and respect. Everyone is invited to join this event hosted by the Arundel Historical Society.

After your holiday commitments, on Nov. 11 from 4:30 to 6 p.m., you will have the opportunity to enjoy a free chicken pot pie dinner at Goodwins Mills Advent Christian Church, located on Goodwins Mills Road. You can stop and dine at the church and order takeout.

If you're interested in artificial intelligence, the University of New England's Biddeford Campus will host a President's Forum event on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m., where two artificial intelligence experts will discuss "AI: End of the World or Dawn of a New Age?" The event is open to the public and free of charge.

14 November from 5:30-7:30pm at Ferry Beach will be an evening of food, family, friends and neighbors where you can also hear a guest speaker on the Camino de Santiago. Tickets are $20 per person, children under 8 are free with ticket purchase. Tickets are available at fbch.me/dinner.

If you are interested in financial legacy arrangements, there will be a free presentation by attorney Robert Boudreaux on financial legacy management for family members with disabilities on November 17 from 10:00-11:30 am at St Joseph Church in Biddeford. The traditional Christmas Holly Berry Fair will be held Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church at the intersection of Main and Cleveland streets in Saco. There you can purchase handmade crafts, stroll through the fair, visit the book section and take pictures. Lunch will also be provided.

Also on November 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. North Saco Congressional Church invites you to the Bake Sale Christmas Fair and Bazaar. There will be a variety of merchandise and food, and there will be a donation table. For more information, you can call 282-0958.

If you would like to purchase products related to Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, you have the opportunity to visit the online store, which will be open through Nov. 19. There you'll find T-shirts, fleece jackets, vests and hats featuring rare animal species found on the preserve.

Don't miss the 24th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner on November 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church Hall. A full turkey and dessert lunch awaits you. You can also order take-out or delivery at a specific time. Orders for delivery must be made in advance.
