Scottish dad buys house in Bulgaria on eBay for £3K due to property market crisis
Scottish father, Rob Davies, spent £3,000 on a six-bedroom house in Bulgaria after becoming disillusioned by the UK housing market crisis.
Rob, 35, from the west coast of Scotland, bought the dilapidated manor house after seeing it on eBay. He described how he was prompted to make the bid when he found himself unable to buy a home in his area. Rob's story is told in the new season of Channel 4's TV program "Help! I Bought a Village", which returns to air on Monday at 5pm. He said his decision to buy the property in Golyamo Kruszewo, which is 20 miles north of the Turkish border, was "completely accidental", reports the Mirror.

He said: "I'm always looking at properties on the market to see if there are any benefits. I was just doing a random search on eBay, just typing in real estate to see what's available. And so it happened. "

Rob's new home, which stands alone on half an acre of land, was built more than 100 years ago but has been empty and derelict since the 1980s.
