Properties of coriander that are beneficial for your health.
Probably, if you are already going gray, you also remember the first time you tried coriander, especially if you were on a trip. What was it like? A deep, excellent, and dazzling flavor. In the best, but also in the worst sense of the word.
Because for some people, when a dish tastes like coriander, it simply tastes like coriander. And that's a lot. This aromatic plant, found all over the world, recently made a curious round trip back to Spain.
Related to Jewish customs, it was used as evidence of a crime against a convert who was sentenced to death for seasoning his food with "malicious coriander." Naturally, it disappeared from the diet and cookbooks of that time, although for many centuries it had been one of the most popular herbal ingredients on the Iberian Peninsula.
It boasts a multitude of health benefits, as it has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, is a powerful diuretic, and contains vitamin C and, less commonly, vitamin K, known as the blood-clotting vitamin. It is cholesterol-free, very low in fat, and has very few calories, with 20% of coriander being essential oil, which is particularly beneficial for improving digestion and combating constipation. It also helps relieve colic and the always unpleasant bloating.
