A Thai wealthy family is seeking to raise Bangkok's profile with One Bangkok, the largest private project in the country.

Panote Sirivadhanabakdi is leading a $4 billion project that promises to change Bangkok's skyline with a new skyscraper to become the city's tallest building.

On the construction site of One Bangkok, a huge building site in downtown Bangkok, Panote Sirivadhanabakdi, CEO of Singapore-based Frasers Property Group, oversees more than 9,000 workers daily. He is the youngest son of Charuen Siriwadhanabakdi, one of Thailand's richest tyrants, whose $12 billion empire stretches from Europe to Australia and includes everything from breweries to warehouses.

Even among all their accomplishments, however, One Bangkok stands out as one of the most ambitious ventures undertaken by the Sirivadhanabakdi family. It promises to transform Bangkok's skyline and help raise the city's profile with modern, integrated real estate offering world-class amenities and infrastructure.

The project, expected to cost around $4 billion, is the largest private sector real estate development (by value) in Thailand's history. When completed, expected by 2027, One Bangkok will include five office towers, five luxury hotels, retail space with more than 400 stores, three luxury residential towers and a concert hall with a total area of more than 1.8 million square meters.

Approximately half of the site will be dedicated to open or green areas, including a large outdoor plaza with a circular fountain adorned with trees and plants at the center of the project.

The project will also include the tallest skyscraper in Thailand, at 436 meters tall (reportedly 92 floors), with an opening scheduled for 2027. The main tower (still unofficially unnamed) is expected to combine office space and a hotel, and should be one of the ten tallest towers in Southeast Asia - far taller than the 315 meters (70 floors) of Bangkok's tallest building. Another six buildings in the complex are said to be 50 stories or higher.

One Bangkok is expected to become Bangkok's new landmark, Thailand's tallest skyscraper.
