UDIO and Faraday Future are utilizing generative artificial intelligence and advanced electric vehicles for the SAVI cluster in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and US-based Faraday Future Intelligent Electric announced on Monday that FF will bring its artificial intelligence and advanced electric vehicle development capabilities to the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster. Faraday Future joins a growing group of companies looking to create a presence in SAVI.
Faraday Future, headquartered in Los Angeles, is developing next-generation intelligent electric vehicles centered on Ultimate Intelligent TechLuxury. The company has developed the components of a generative artificial intelligence product for use in its vehicles. ADIO will partner with FF to establish a regional headquarters, manufacturing facility and R&D center of excellence that will focus on next-generation electric vehicles and artificial intelligence in Abu Dhabi, as well as to explore activities in UAE capital markets. ADIO and FF will also dedicate resources to develop leading regulatory frameworks that foster advanced solutions and applications for smart autonomous transportation.
The center of the SAVI cluster, located in Masdar City, provides state-of-the-art services and capabilities to develop, test and manufacture applications for transportation and mobility in air, land and sea, as well as to serve other sectors such as logistics.
Director General ADIO Badr Al-Olama said, "The SAVI cluster is at the forefront of innovation in air, land and sea mobility. It attracts exceptional companies with the ambition and ability to change and reshape the future of transportation. FF will deepen Abu Dhabi's electric vehicle industry by bringing new expertise in generative artificial intelligence and overall intelligent mobility.
In addition to accelerating the development of artificial intelligence and electric vehicles for mobile applications, Faraday Future's research and development center in Abu Dhabi will also explore opportunities for collaboration and technology transfer with Abu Dhabi universities.
Global CEO of FF Mattayas Aidt said, "This collaboration with ADIO to support SAVI's efforts helps explore opportunities for co-productions and partnerships in the UAE and will be a continuation of our drive. We believe this development further validates FF's global strategy and our products and technologies, given that the UAE is one of the leading luxury markets in the global automotive industry. "
Faraday Future also announced plans to introduce its FF 91 2.0 Futurist aiFalcon model to the UAE market as early as 2024. This limited edition variant has been customized for the middle east and includes customized artificial intelligence, ultra-fast 5G connectivity, race training and premium features.
SAVI Abu Dhabi's cluster is growing from a strong industrial base and supports the UAE's goal for half of all cars on the road to be electric by 2050. The cluster leverages Abu Dhabi's access to established air corridors, road infrastructure and international seaports. It includes educational facilities, testing areas, research and development laboratories, large-scale workshops, hangars, and manufacturing facilities connected through Abu Dhabi's global logistics network.
