Adolfo Lindenberg, the founder of the construction company that spread neoclassical style in São Paulo, has passed away.
Adolfo Lindenberg, a renowned engineer, architect, and entrepreneur, passed away on Thursday, the 2nd, at the age of 99. He was the founder of a construction company that bears his name and popularized the neoclassical style in São Paulo. A month before his centenary, Lindenberg left this world in the year when his company celebrated its 70th anniversary. The construction firm was established in 1954 when the engineer built three houses in the new Ibirapuera neighborhood. Since then, over 700 projects have been completed, particularly in the capital, where at various times more than 100 construction sites operated simultaneously, as recalled by Marcelo Buazar, the director of new businesses and one of the four current partners of the company. His main focus has always been on high-end projects.
The company's website claims that in the 1960s, Lindenberg found a way to appeal to wealthy families in São Paulo and convince them to transition from luxurious mansions to apartments. He offered spacious living units with an elegant style, complemented by a high level of security in apartment buildings. During the 1970s, the company began implementing projects outside of Brazil, such as in Portugal, Paraguay, and Chile.
In addition to residential architecture, Lindenberg was also involved in the construction of hotels — among the most famous are Casa Grande in Guarujá and Tropical Hotel in Manaus. He also contributed to commercial and corporate buildings located along the Pinheiros River and on Faria Lima Street.
Today, the company is managed by the second generation of the family, led by Adolfo Lindenberg Jr. In 2022, a partnership agreement was signed with the developer EZTec, and three projects have already been launched together. According to Buzar, although Adolfo Lindenberg has been less active in the business in recent years, he has continued to be advised by directors, especially on project architecture issues.“He always had the last word.”“he notes.”
In addition to this, Lindenberg led an active lifestyle. At the age of 96, as the director says, he attended the World Expo in Dubai and continued to travel until he was 98. The funeral will take place this Friday at 10 AM at the Consolasiao cemetery.Adolfo LindenbergAn engineer, architect, and entrepreneur passed away at the age of 99 in São Paulo.
