The Lowborough-based land and property development consultancy Mather Jamie recently welcomed David Johnson and his wife Pam Johnson, heirs to the famous Harpur Crewe estate in Derby, on their first visit to the UK from the US since 2019 due to Covid restrictions.
Situated in the picturesque village of Ticknall, Harpur Crewe Manor is a testament to English history as well as a story of international connections and dedication to preserving buildings and family heritage. The Harpur Crewe family have owned the estate since the 1500s, weaving their mark into the very fabric of the community. However, the last surviving members of the Harpur Crewe family were left without heirs in the late 20th century. As a result of the complex process of resolving the rights to''Inheritance David and Pam Johnson of Vermont, USA, were the last surviving heirs. In 1999, the Johnson family officially inherited the Harpur Crewe estate and created The Harpur Crewe LLC to manage and protect its future.
The Harpur Crewe LLC is a real estate and landowner that includes significant residential and industrial land and a major contributor to the economic growth and prosperity of the region. The Infinity Park and Infinity Garden Village projects reflect the Johnson family's commitment to regional development. Infinity Park Derby is a unique collaboration between Derby City Council, the Harpur Crewe estate, Rolls-Royce and developers Cedar House, Wilson Bowden and Peveril Securities. The 100-acre park is located in the south of the city, adjacent to the world headquarters of Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace and 15 minutes''riding from manufacturers such as Toyota Manufacturing (UK), Bombardier and JCB.

Mather Jamie became involved in the Harpur Crewe estate in 1999, during the probate valuation following the death of Miss Airmine Harpur Crewe. Mather Jamie's manager Amy Biddel has been involved in its administration since 2013 and hosted Pam and David during their visit. Amy is assisted in the administration of the estate by Amber Forster, Mark Brandon and Victoria Golburn.

The Harpur Crewe estate also includes 71 rental dwellings, 2 vacation homes, 3 farms, various orchards and kitchen garden land. It also includes an Eyevik Therapy Center, fishing rights, farmland and the picturesque but interesting 'Lock up' prison at Ticknall.
