'Sustainable Sharjah' begins second phase of villa transfers
The Sharjah Sustainable City Project is an innovative venture covering an area of 7.2 million square feet in the Rahmaniyah area. Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Diamond Developers announced the commencement of the handover of residential villas under the second phase of the Sharjah Sustainable City Project following the success it has enjoyed due to high demand.
By the end of December 2023, 85% of the project, which was divided into four phases, had been sold and the city had become a vibrant community. Excellent value is the main incentive for successful sales in Sharjah Sustainable City, which is accompanied by support for an environmentally conscious lifestyle. Residential units are equipped with solar panels on their roofs, and the city provides electric means of transportation, facilities for growing vegetables using vertical farming, and wastewater treatment for watering green areas and other functions.
Sustainable City Sharjah is a unique mixed-use project covering an area of 7.2 million square feet in the Rahmaniyah neighborhood of Sharjah.
Youssef Ahmed Matoo, Executive Director of Sustainable Sharjah City, said that the city's goal, as the first fully sustainable community in Sharjah, is to create a fully sustainable lifestyle that serves as proof that it is possible to achieve concerted progress and sustainability. Proud to set new standards for sustainable development in the region and strive to ensure a high quality of life for future generations.
The villas at Sustainable City Sharjah are characterized by unique architecture, diverse interior design and distribution, providing inspiring opportunities to reduce the community's carbon footprint. These villas are expected to enable residents to save up to 50% on public utility bills through the use of insulating building materials and windows, as well as smart home technologies, energy-efficient electrical installations and solar panels.
Matu added that new residents will explore the Phase II villas to learn how our public spaces focus on environmental sustainability, including green axes running through the city center and support for vertical farming, as well as a plant that converts waste to energy and reuses water to irrigate green spaces. The city encourages an active lifestyle by relying on world-class amenities including bicycle and pedestrian paths, green parks, sports fields and pools, and clinics.
