Sustainable Sharjah receives two awards at the prestigious International Real Estate Awards in London.
International Property Awards London has awarded the sustainable city of Sharjah with two prestigious awards. The City of Sharjah won the award for the best sustainable residential project in the world, developed jointly with Sharjah Investment and Development (Shurk) and Diamond Developers, and for the best sustainable residential project in the Arabian Peninsula. The award ceremony was held in London at the 2022-2023 International Real Estate Exhibition.
The awards recognize Sustainable City Sharjah's contribution to the global development of future-proof sustainable housing, as well as the use of modern designs, creating a harmonious lifestyle, and improving health and well-being. These awards join the international recognition of Sustainable City Sharjah as a practical model of the cities of the future and a global standard for sustainable and low-carbon living.
The prizes were presented by Yousuf Ahmed Mutua, CEO of Sustainable City Sharjah, who expressed his joy and gratitude for being recognized by the international platform, and highlighted the importance of the UAE's support and contribution to the development of sustainability.
Saleh Habib, CEO of Diamond Developers, emphasized that this award reaffirms their commitment to sustainable development in the UAE and brings them closer to their goal of achieving zero carbon emissions.
The International Real Estate Awards celebrate the best in residential and commercial real estate, and include experts from around the world. These awards highlight the ongoing efforts of the sustainable city of Sharjah and its contribution to the development of environmentally and socially responsible housing.
Sustainable City Sharjah covers an area of 7.2 million square feet in the Ar Rahmaniyah neighborhood of Sharjah. The city is equipped with renewable energy and is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions. It treats all wastewater to irrigate green areas, and recycles waste as much as possible to avoid landfilling. The city produces chemical-free vegetables, and residents are encouraged to walk and use environmentally friendly modes of transportation. There are 1,250 sustainable villas in the city.
