Villa on the Italian Coast Emeralda Boasts Architectural Origin

A beachfront villa designed in the 1970s by architect Luigi Vietti is for sale in Porto Cervo, a resort on the Costa Smeralda on the island of Sardinia.

Redx Porto Cervo, a resort on the Costa Smeralda on the island of Sardinia, is everything it was intended to be. The central city and the surrounding stretch of the Emerald Coast were founded by Prince Karim Aga Khan and investors starting in the 1960s as a luxury tourist destination. The development has become a favorite place for the international jet set to vacation and stay. Costa Smeralda is popular with second home buyers from all over the world. "The Costa Smeralda is one of the most sought-after destinations in the world for buyers looking for a second home that can be used not only for summer vacations but, increasingly, for extended periods when they can work remotely or spend their retirement," says Fernando Velez, founder of Rarex, which specializes in real estate sales in the region. "This area is proving to be very attractive not only to national buyers but also to international investors, especially from Northern Europe and North America." The area is attracting interest from national buyers and international investors from Northern Europe and North America.

One of the various architects and landscape designers engaged for the project was renowned architect Luigi Vietti. He also owns the design of the village center, the Cervo and Pitrizza hotels, the Dolce Sposa residential complex and private villas, including the Prince's residence. Architectural guidelines called for a rustic Mediterranean style utilizing irregular shapes, decorative arches, pastel exteriors and natural unfinished wood. Vietti designed villa with panoramic coastal views, landmark Stella Maris Church and yacht club.

Veles is now offering a home designed by Vietti in the 1970s. After renovation, the waterfront villa retains its original facade and is covered with a red tiled roof.

Various natural materials such as granite, terracotta, wood and marble are used in the interior. The villa's 1-hectare plot, approximately 2.5 acres, is bordered by two sandy coves separated by a swimming dock. It offers views of the coast, Stella Maris Church and the yacht club. The villa has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The property features a 450 square meter main villa with a central patio, swimming pool and a separate 70 square meter guest house for guests or staff. Granite, terracotta, wood and marble are also used inside. The property also has two marinas in a nearby marina. As for location, the marina is a five-minute walk away and the city center is about a 20-minute walk or a few minutes by taxi-boat.

"Accessible within a few hours flight time from major European capitals," says Velez, "Costa Smeralda is a favorite destination for affluent people from German-speaking countries, Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States looking for their own oasis of tranquility with a mild year-round climate and unspoiled coastline." The price for the property is available on request. Two berths in a nearby marina are included in the price.
