For those thinking of extending their stay on the island beyond a couple of weeks, top-tier stylist Charles Worthington and his partner Allan Peters are offering a "once-in-a-generation chance" to own a cliffside home - provided you have an extra $55 million on hand.

WorthingtonWorthington, who sold his hair care company named after him to consumer goods giant PZ Cussons for $47 million in 2004, has styled the hair of many famous clients throughout his career, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Sharon Stone, Claire Danes, Lily James and Goldie Hawn.

The British entrepreneur opened his first salon in London's Fitzrovia neighborhood in 1987, followed by''followed by two salons in London and his own product line in the mid-1990s. Worthington also opened a salon in New York in 1998, which was featured in the latest episode of the TV series "Sex and the City".

If his Mykonos villa, 'The Cape', is sold at a price of $54.6 million, it will become the most expensive property ever sold on the island. The villa is also available for rent at $240,170 per week. The price includes all furnishings except artwork.

This 1,300-square-meter villa has eight bedrooms, a chef's kitchen, 6,500-square feet of land, panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and an infinity pool. It also features a fully equipped gym, spa and a 'yoga terrace overlooking the''sea' that can accommodate more than 200 guests for events, according to a real estate agent from Beauchamp Estates.

The lower level of the house has a private space known as the 'beach', with a Jacuzzi, two hearths and a separate kitchen, as well as views of Mykonos Old Town and neighboring islands. The interior is adorned with parquet floors, wooden beams and full-height windows, which, according to the selling agent, create a luxurious and stylish atmosphere similar to the coastal grand mansions in the Hamptons.

Worthington, who originally began training as an architect but then retrained as a hairdresser, has used his interest in architecture and design to create several 'trophy' properties with his partner, including''villas in Saint-Tropez. The Mykonos villa was built in 1993 and expanded in 1999.

Worthington and Peters bought The Cape in 2013 and spent a decade expanding and restoring the property.

Worthington said in a press release that The Cape is "always amazing" for residents and guests. "It's the perfect place for private getaways, cozy dinners with friends and family, and large-scale events," he said. "From the windows and terraces you can watch the superyachts coming into Mykonos harbor, enjoy the sunset and the sparkling night lights [of the city]. "

In addition, Gary Hersham, founder of real estate agency Beauchamp Estates, said in a statement that Mykonos is a luxury destination "without parallel in the world." "Satisfying wealthy superyacht owners and private''airplanes, as well as offering fine dining and luxury boutiques, it is no wonder that sophisticated people from all over the world seek to return to Mykonos time and time again, with many choosing to purchase a home," he said. "The Cape is one of the island's finest private homes, in one of the best locations, Cholakia, and offers the perfect Mykonian-style private space, with interiors and exteriors of exceptional style and design quality.
