George Clooney's villa on Lake Como in northern Italy may have found a buyer. "An agency inMilan is handling the sale, but I can't reveal who," said Yasemin Baysal, owner of the real estate agency Engel & Volkers Lago di Como, to the newspaper Oggi last week. "One of our potential clients is very interested in this villa: we have already started all the necessary checks before a possible offer."

Earlier this month, Page Six exclusively reported that Clooney, 62, was selling the estate for $107 million after 21 years of ownership. Clooney himself has stated that this is not true. "The first time I heard about it was when Page Six published the article. Everyone picked up on that news. It's not true," Clooney said in a statement to The Post on Sunday.

The Oggi newspaper reported "rumors" that Clooney's wife, Amal, 45, prefers Provence. The couple purchased the Domaine du Canadel estate near the commune of Brignol in France in 2021.

Clooney bought the Lake Como villa in 2002 from the Heinz family for about $10 million. He later purchased the neighboring property, turning the villa into "one of the largest private homes in the area," according to The Wall Street Journal, which last year estimated the villa's value at more than $100 million.

The estate has 25 rooms and beautiful views of Lake Como. With a total area of about 100,000 square feet, the property features a vegetable garden, swimming pool, private gymnasium, movie room, basketball court, two docks and a pier. According to Mayor Lallo, real estate prices have nearly doubled since Clooney's arrival. This 18th-century estate has played an important role in the actor's life - it was here that he met Amal in 2013.

"Money Monster" star revealed in a 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Amal joined him for dinner at this villa on her way to Cannes, France. "I thought she was beautiful, funny and, of course, smart," Clooney marveled. "My agent called me and said: 'I met this woman who's going to come to your house and who you're going to marry,'" Clooney said in a 2018 interview with David Letterman. George and Amal Clooney married in 2014 and welcomed twins Ella and Alexander in 2017.
