Inside the Georgia O'Keeffe house, owned by Paul Allen's estate and currently for sale for $15 million.
Paul Allen, one of the co-founders of Microsoft, bought artist Georgia O'Keeffe's former home in2000 for just over $12 million.
After his death in 2018, Paul Allen's estate began selling his property, and the auction of his art collection broke records, raising $1.5 billion. Almost all the funds were donated to charity.
Paul Allen's house in Santa Fe, the adobe house that O'Keeffe called Sun and Shadow and where she lived until her death at the age of98, has been on sale since2021. The house, located on a20-acre plot, has still not been sold, so the property has reduced the price from $22.6 million to $15 million.
Sun and Shadow, despite their impressive pedigree, give way to the charm of the O'Keeffe studio-house in Taos, Abiquiu, which is part of the O'Keeffe Museum in New Mexico. Abiquiu preserves O'Keeffe's style, its mid-century furniture and ascetic way of life.
** The Sun and Shadow has earthen walls and visible wooden beams, as well as has been updated with large photographs of canyons, conference tables with office chairs, and carpeting in some bedrooms.
**In the house, there is also a special addition: a very special tree.
The buyer of the house will now be able to become its owner, as well as the collection of cacti of Paul Allen.
