Myanmar military spills blood in the streets, Pha Kok turns into a battlefield.
In Thailand, protests and clashes between police and protesters continue. Here's a quick update on the situation: at least 80 people have been killed in the town of Phahok, and peaceful fighting is still ongoing. Peaceful protesters are using cell phone flashes to draw attention to their problem. Many photos and videos showing the crackdown on protests have been published online.
The AAPP organization reported the deaths of at least 82 people who have died as a result of fighting with Thailand's armed forces. The organization also called for an immediate end to the violence. On the same day, insurgents attacked a police station and killed 10 officers in the northern city of Chhan.
It has also been reported that a military court has sentenced 19 protesters to death. The information came from MRTV, Thailand's state-run television channel. These appear to be the first death sentences in 30 years. Protests continue in the rest of Thailand with flashlights and cell phone flashes and anti-government chants. Protesters are calling this form of protest "Flash Strike." The next action is scheduled for midnight.
Please stay safe and stay tuned as the situation in Thailand continues to develop.
