Madridishouseof 400 square meters, with an innovative avant-garde design, built in seven days, combining seven parts together. Quite an achievement for a 2008 construction, when the modular housing in theSpainwas not as popular as it is today.

This is Casa Hemeroscopium, the residence of its architect, Anton Garcia-Abril, co-founder of Ensamble Studio, an internationally recognized architectural firm with a staff ofapartmentin Madrid. "There are only seven elements. The design of the joints responds to their structural nature - their forces - and their tensions express their structural state. Through the arrangement of the structure, the house becomes airy, light, transparent and the interior space flows with life," Ensamble Studio's website states.

The author of thishousesof precast concrete, featured in the BBC documentary series The World's Most Extraordinary Homes, is a European doctor of architecture and professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

This modernist contemporary prefab home located in Las Rosas,MadridIt is built using concrete, steel and glass, which provides good thermal insulation. One of its unique features, indeed an achievement, is the floating pool. It seems to defy the laws of physics, floating above the site, rising above the threshold of the house.

The name of this groundbreaking home, Hemeroscopium, comes from a Greek word meaning “the place where the sun sets,” faithfully reflecting the horizontality that characterizes the building's design.

A year of planning, seven days of construction.

The architect spent more than a year calculating the structure, but construction and assembly took only seven days thanks to the use of prefabricated elements.Housewas built almost entirely of concrete to reduce costs and extend its useful life.

"The order, inwhichthese structures are stacked, creates a spiral, starting with a stable support - the main beam - and evolving upward in a sequence of elements that become increasingly lighter as the structure grows, culminating at a point that completes the system of equilibrium," Ensamble Studio says.

The house has two floors. The first floor is for the day area: dining room, living room and kitchen. While the upper floor is the master bedroom and corresponding bedrooms. Each room is designed to maximize natural light and they all open to the courtyard.

The jewel of this project is on the top floor: the floating pool. It sits on a U-shaped beam and is Olympic-sized. It was conceived as the centerpiece of the design.
