Inserted in a complex with an exceptional location in the heart of Alfama, it is close to the Church of Santo Estevanu and the center of Alfama. This apartment is unique in its characteristics. The result of a project to restore an old factory / warehouse into several apartments is one of these apartments, during this process several noble materials were used, reflecting good taste, charm and refinement placed in the space created. Alfama is the oldest and one of the most typical neighborhoods of the city of Lisbon. It currently occupies part of the barrios of Santa Maria Major and São Vicente. Its name comes from the Arabic word al-hamma (الحمّة), meaning "waterfall of warm waters, good waters". Most of all in Alfama, impressive views can be seen from the public promenade formed by various viewing platforms such as Portas do Sol, the Tower of the Church of Santa Cruz do Castelo (the tallest tower of old Lisbon) and Santa Luzia. Above and around Alfama is the hill of São Jorge Castle, a fortress and royal palace until the 16th century, and the hill of São Vicente. Besides the Castle, the main monuments of the area are the Cathedral, the Church of San Stefano and the Church of San Vicente de Fura. Alfama is very unusual, resembling an old village not only in appearance but also because it has a relatively small community. The neighborhood is visited daily by Portuguese and foreign tourists, and is considered the smallest in the entire city of Lisbon. It is known for its restaurants and fado houses, as well as for its celebrations of popular saints, especially on the night of St. Anthony, from June 12 to 13.
