Next comes Dijon, the capital of the Burgundy region. This city is a two-hour train ride from Paris.

During the pandemic, Dijon's population increased due to the arrival of Parisians looking for quieter places to live. In 2021, the number of available vacancies per 100 inhabitants was 6.47%, an almost 12-fold increase from 2020's 0.54%.

    Thus, these cities do not boast particularly attractive living conditions. The main reason for this is their remoteness from major urban centers and insufficiently developed transport infrastructure. These factors explain the low cost of housing in these regions.
