Searching for the magic spark in life
From time to time, each of us lacks that magical spark, and there are moments when we find ourselves caught in a whirlpool of negative news and gray days that all seem the same. However, among us are people who have a special way of seeing the world, and it is they who know how to find their happiness and comfort, even if that happiness is hidden under bright sunlight.
Moving to Turkey
In this article, we will share the amazing experience of a family that made the bold decision to leave behind an industrial city in Russia and settle in sunny Turkey. We will discuss important aspects such as:
- The strength of family ties
- Overcoming life's obstacles
- An optimistic outlook on life
- Acquiring real estate as an investment project
The story of Tatiana and Konstantin
“Although we couldn’t go to Thailand, leaving Cherepovets became a necessity,” begins Tatiana, one of the most popular Russian stylists in the field of hair tattooing. Currently, she and her husband Konstantin are enjoying life in Turkey and actively sharing their experiences on their Instagram account. Their journey to relocating took several years, during which they went through numerous moves. Tatiana admits that sometimes she feels as if this whole story isn’t about her, and if someone had told her about such a twist of fate ten years ago, she would never have believed it.
Originally from Cherepovets
The couple is from Cherepovets — a small city in the Vologda region, located about 600 kilometers from the capital. This city was built around large industries, such as the Severstal steel plant and several chemical factories. It is worth noting that Cherepovets is located in the north, where there is almost no sunlight from October to May. It's easy to imagine the atmosphere that prevails in this city.
Local residents often lack positive emotions and face various medical issues. Despite high salaries, access to alcohol is unrestricted, and it can be purchased in any store. This is a sad reality for many industrial cities in Russia.
Family obligations and dreams
Interestingly, the couple had never considered the possibility of moving before, as it was all about their parents who needed their attention. At that time, Konstantin, Tatiana's partner, was working as an English teacher and had the opportunity to go to the USA through a student exchange program during his university studies, but he and Tatiana decided not to consider such offers. She was working as a hairdresser in Cherepovets, while Konstantin had started a career in real estate and construction after university.
Changes in life
The couple lived in their hometown, leading an absolutely ordinary life and making plans for the future. However, with the arrival of their son, their fate began to change. They started to travel actively, and like many others, it all began with trips to Sochi and the resorts of Egypt. Then came trips to Turkey and finally to Thailand, which turned out to be a real discovery for them.
They realized that this corner of the world had become the most appealing place for them, where they sought to spend more time. Every year, the family tried to visit this place for at least a month or two, indulging in travel and enjoying the life that this country offered them.
Return from Thailand
After each trip to Thailand, I felt that returning to Cherepovets was becoming an increasingly difficult challenge. In those moments, I was often overwhelmed by thoughts of how nice it would be to move there permanently.
Searching for opportunities
After conducting a little research, we found that working as an English teacher opens up opportunities for legal employment in Thailand and obtaining a visa. This offer seemed enticing, especially considering that our son is already growing up, being in the 10th grade and preparing for university admission.
Plan for the future
We started developing a plan:
- Our son continues his studies in Cherepovets.
- My husband and I will be building a new life in the tropical expanses of Thailand.
This all happened in 2015.
My son is in a military university.
In 2016, our son enrolled in a military university, choosing a very promising department that specializes in IT technologies for the defense industry. He lived in the barracks and felt quite comfortable.
Obstacles on the way to moving
We were actively preparing for the move, and soon we found out that we wouldn't be able to leave for now: our son wouldn't be able to continue his service in the army because he wouldn't be able to get the necessary documents signed in his third year. What were we supposed to do in this situation?
Given that trips to Thailand were banned, we needed to leave Cherepovets. Another factor that pushed us to this decision was that I found out about my diagnosis — cancer, and staying in a city with so many factories became completely unbearable.
New path: Sochi
So we quickly changed our plans and decided to move to Sochi. My husband took a more active role in the move, while I went to Moscow for treatment after my surgery. In the end, I never managed to get to Sochi.
Life and work in Moscow
Nevertheless, my spouse got a job at a real estateagency and began to thoroughly study promising construction projects in the region. Thanks to his efforts, we managed to buy an apartment in a new building in Sochi, and we left our home in Moscow without regrets, having spent a total of four years in the capital.
I can't help but note that life in this city brought me immense pleasure, even despite the tough treatment and long sessions of chemotherapy.
Reevaluating priorities
Moscow allows you to see your life from a new perspective and helps you understand the essence of your true priorities. I quickly found a job at Top Gun and started actively developing in my professional field.
Career development
I managed to master the technique.hair tattooI happily spent time in this amazing environment. This period became truly magical, filled with creativity and communication with wonderful people!
New horizons
I had the opportunity to work with well-known personalities who once seemed unattainable to me, trained under high-class masters, and as I developed myself, I was able to gain popularity in my circle.hair tattoo.
I have started receiving invitations to collaborate with various salons from different countries, including the USA, and they offered to cover all possible expenses. Thus, despite the challenges I faced, I managed to find myself and enjoy life.
An amazing adventure in Turkey
I never thought I would experience such incredible events — I, an ordinary woman from Cherepovets, who has already crossed the threshold of youth, came to Moscow for medical treatment.
Amidst the intense stress at work, my husband and I decided to escape to Turkey for a month-long vacation. In November 2020, we bought our tickets, and on the day of our departure, we started looking for a place to stay. A friend of mine, who had spent several years in Turkey, said, "You will fall in love with this place so much that you won't want to leave." At that moment, I thought those words couldn't possibly be true, and I couldn't imagine how accurate they would turn out to be.
We rented an apartment in Alanya, in the Mahmutlar area, and after a few days, we drove around in a rented car, exploring the surroundings.
The Wonders of Cappadocia
When we arrived in Cappadocia, a truly amazing world opened up before us.We have realized the beauty and richness of this country. How great it is to have the opportunity:
- enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables;
- swimming in the sea at any time;
- to enjoy the bright sun almost all year round.
At that fateful moment, I realized how much I didn't want to leave. This coincided with Kostya's decision to sell our apartment in Sochi to buy a place in Mahmutlar. The decision didn't take long to make, as at that time our acquaintance decided to sell her apartment.
Although there was already a potential buyer who made a deposit, after some time we still managed to become its new owners. Thus, almost spontaneously, we stayed in Turkey.
New lifestyle
Sometimes it felt like we were just on a luxurious vacation, but this period was so wonderful that we didn't want it to end.Kostya found a job at a real estateagency in Alanya.I sometimes worked part-time at a local beauty salon.

The Mahmutlar area is great for Russian speakers, as even the signs here are in Russian, which makes communication easier and eliminates language barriers. Life here is very similar to the environment we are used to.
Adaptation in a new place
However, we were well aware that although we live in Alanya, have our own housing and visa, we are still in a foreign environment and should not impose our customs on the locals. Perhaps this is what helped us adapt easily and avoid negative situations.
By the way, our son, while studying in his third year of university, decided not to sign the "confidentiality agreement" and left the institution. As a result, we all together started a new chapter in our lives, and this experience of living in Turkey has become a true gift for us, filled with joy, new discoveries, and positive emotions.
Moving to Turkey
He was able to find job offers in the field of information technology, and as soon as the opportunity to work remotely arose, he decided to move to Turkey. As a result, his entire family also decided to change their place of residence and moved to the coast.
“There aren’t many apartments left on the market priced under €95,000,” Konstantin said. “Recently, there has been a sharp increase in demand for housing, and the supply is practically running out.” Currently, property prices in Turkey are rising at an astonishing rate.
The situation in the real estate market
I work in real estate and regularly receive inquiries about purchasing apartments in Alanya for €95,000. Currently, such offers are almost nonexistent — there are very few. When it comes to properties priced above €100,000, there is still a certain selection available, but there are no properties left under €100,000.
Average price categories
If we analyze the average price ranges, apartments with a "2+1" configuration in Alanya cost around €150,000. You can find similar housing for €100,000, but it will be in an old building that needs major repairs. In very old houses in Turkey, you can sometimes find options for €75,000, but it's important to consider that such housing will require significant financial investments.
Investment potential of Turkey
In general, I would recommend considering Turkey as a promising investment destination. I am an investor myself and I invest capital in construction projects, where the initial cost starts from €50,000. I am confident that by the end of construction, the prices for such apartments will reach at least €80,000-90,000. For example, new developments in Mahmutlar are already priced from €100,000 at the start of sales.
The future of real estate prices
One thing is clear: land plots suitable for construction are becoming increasingly scarce, while political stability and confidence in Turkey's future are growing. In the near term, a decrease in real estate prices here seems unlikely.
