Tenant file
Anna is from the city of Barnaul.
Agency:KFG-Invest
Location:Turkey, Antalya
Property type:One-bedroom apartment, 70 m²
Cost:approximately €1330, including agency fees
Type of transaction:Rental for three weeks, May 2014
Location and conditions
One of the best advantages of the apartment we stayed in was its convenient location. We quickly found out that the nearest beach is just a five-minute walk away.
Upon departure, we needed to make a payment for the final cleaning, which amounted to €35, in accordance with the previously established conditions.
Utility costs
As for the utility expenses, despite our efforts to save, we had to pay €230 for water and electricity over the three weeks of our stay.
Choosing a rental instead of a hotel
Why did we decide to rent a place instead of taking the offer for a hotel with full service? We already had experience staying in hotels, but this time we chose to rent an apartment because we have a small child. Our daughter has difficulty with unprocessed food, so being able to cook for ourselves in the kitchen was an important factor for us. Moreover, this choice provides more safety guarantees, as large restaurants may have varying sanitation standards, and a child's body is more vulnerable to infections. For example, stale porridge can cause serious stomach issues that adults might not notice.
Additional requirements
What additional requirements did we have for the accommodation, besides having a kitchen with the necessary appliances? We really wanted the apartments to be close to the airport. Previously, we vacationed in cities like Kemer and Side, which are located far from Antalya. This time, we wanted the journey to the apartments to be as short as possible, since Antalya is a large city with a developed infrastructure and many medical facilities, which is especially important when traveling with a small child.
Problems with choosing housing
When choosing accommodation in Antalya, it was critically important for us that it was in close proximity to the sea. As mentioned earlier, the main advantage of this apartment was its location — just a five-minute walk to the beach. The quality of comfort also played a significant role in the overall impression. We considered other options that were even closer to the sea, but the condition of those properties left much to be desired. The interiors were in a neglected state, and in one independent option, we found out that the owner planned to carry out renovations only after the tourist season ended.
Our neighborhood and environment
We also liked the area where we stayed. We chose apartments in Gursa - it is less touristy compared to Liman, where the atmosphere is more relaxed and cozy. Mostly locals vacationed here renting vacation rentals. There was a playground in the immediate vicinity of our house and a small store on the first floor, which added comfort to our vacation.
The results of our experience
Thus, our experience of renting an apartment turned out to be quite successful, and we are genuinely happy that we made this choice, which allowed us to spend time with our daughter in Antalya in a comfortable and pleasant environment.
How did the process of finding an apartment go? Did financial limitations play a role in this matter? We didn't focus solely on the budget. From the very beginning, we decided that a one-bedroom space would be more than enough for our needs. We knew that apartments of this level cost between €900 and €1100 per month, and we were prepared for such expenses. Thus, the financial aspect did not become a barrier for us.
Apartment description
Let's now talk about the apartment where we spent our time. First of all, it fully met our expectations. It's hard to say when exactly it was renovated, but its condition looked neat and harmonious.

Spacious rooms
Additionally, it is worth noting that the rooms were quite spacious, allowing our child to play and run freely. Our apartment had an area of 70 square meters, which usually corresponds to two-bedroom apartments, but we only had one. Inside, there was enough soft furniture:
- sofa
- a wide bed with bedside tables
- two desks — a writing desk and a toilet desk
- spacious closet
The space in the bathroom and bedroom was efficiently organized. The kitchen was equipped with a large refrigerator, a gas stove with an oven, a dishwasher, a kettle, a toaster, a microwave, and a blender.
Arrival and amenities
When we arrived for our vacation, we needed nothing more than to buy groceries and prepare meals. During the initial communication with the agent, we confirmed the availability of all the necessary items. For our comfort, a few additional things were even purchased, such asblenderandchildren's pottyto avoid carrying extra stuff out of the house.
Payment for additional items
Did we pay for these additions? No, all these items remained in the apartment and can be used by other guests as well. We only asked to arrange the delivery of large bottles of water, and that cost us something, but everything else was already available. All the bedding and a lot of towels were prepared without any additional expenses.
Location of the apartments
Now let's talk about the location of the apartments. They were situated in a multi-apartment residential building that had an intercom system and video surveillance. The building had two elevators, and the cleanliness in the entrance was maintained at a high level. This was confirmed by the mirrored wall and the shiny marble floors, where every speck of dust was noticeable. During our stay, we kept things tidy ourselves, although we had the option to order cleaning for an additional fee.
Conclusion
At the end of our vacation, we understood that we were left with the responsibility of covering the standard cleaning costs of the apartment for the new tenants. We were pleased with our choice and the quality of service provided. We realize that without proper care, these points could have significantly spoiled our impression of the accommodation.

Conclusion
In conclusion of our trip to Antalya, I want to emphasize that renting an apartment turned out to be the best option for our family, especially considering we have a small child. We weren't just looking for temporary accommodation; we aimed to create a comfortable environment for our vacation. The ability to cook our own meals while being in a safe and cozy setting was exactly what we needed.
The size of the apartment and its condition exceeded our expectations, which is especially important when traveling with children who feel more comfortable in a home-like environment. The proximity to the sea and the good infrastructure of the area added to the advantages of our choice. We were pleasantly surprised by the neatness and cleanliness of the house, as well as the attention the agent paid to our wishes.
Advantages of renting an apartment:
- Cooking for oneself:the ability to cook food in a separate kitchen.
- Comfortable Space:large and spacious rooms for a child.
- Proximity to the sea:It's just a five-minute walk.
- Neighborhood Infrastructure:a well-developed network of medical institutions and stores.
- Cleanliness and order:the perfect condition of a house and apartment.
This trip taught us that renting accommodation on our own while on vacation is not only a way to save money but also an opportunity to organize our holiday in a way that suits us best. I am sure that our future travels will be just as well thought out and comfortable, thanks to all the experience we gained in Antalya.
