Built in 1085 and known as the Abbey of the Holy Trinity of Spineto, this magnificent estate was a functioning abbey until 1830. It is an important example of Tuscan monasticism and the complex was originally a typical feudal estate at the center of Sarteano's agrarian, artisanal and spiritual life. According to real estate agent Roberto Musotti, after the fall of Siena, the abbey eventually came under the rule of the Medici family.
